How do I create an OHIP request?
This type of request pertains to forms with K codes, such as ODSP or nursing home assessment forms.
While these forms must be billed through your EMR, we strongly recommend submitting them in Docnote. This ensures that finance can accurately track your uninsured services.
- To begin, select the "Requests" tab on the left-hand side of the dashboard. Then, click the Create New Request button.
- Next, set the request type to "Standard Request" and choose the patient's name from the dropdown list if they already have an account. If they do not, you will need to manually enter the patient's name.
- You can upload the document now or wait and upload the final document once the request is submitted. Scroll down to Service Details, select the type of form and change the billed section to OHIP. Assign staff and primary care provider and submit the request.
- Once the request has been submitted the status of the request will change to Pending Verification and the Submitted Status will change to Pending.
- You can then update the status to In Progress and upload the completed document.
- If you need to send the request to a 3rd party you can add a Recipient in the Request Details Sections.
- By selecting the 3 dots beside the final document you can select if you want to send to the patient or 3rd party if applicable.
- We ask that you create an invoice so the system in Docnote recognizes a charge associated with the request. After creating the invoice, you can Mark As Submitted, which will update the status as Complete.
- The Submitted status will update to Sent to OHIP. You can still send the request to the patient or 3rd party if this step was missed by selecting the undo button. The status will change back to In Progress and you can send it to the patient or 3rd party.
